Obituary

Jane Williamson Banks passed away peacefully at her home in Beulah, Alabama on June 2, 2014; she was born on August 30, 1951 in Randolph County, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Joe Kenneth Banks, Sr.; her mother, Cornelle Watkins Williamson; her brothers, Charles Williamson and Howard Williamson; and her granddaughter, MaKenna Eileen Banks. Mrs. Banks was a member of Pine Grove Church. She retired from East Alabama Medical Center after working there for 37 years. She was a dedicated Memaw to her grandchildren, a friend to many, and a kind soul to all. Mrs. Banks is survived by her father, Frank Williamson, Sr.; daughter, Ashley Banks Dunson; son, Joe Kenneth "Spud" Banks, Jr. (Christi); grandchildren, Bradley and Emileigh Dunson, Samuel, Levi, Allie Grace, and Issabella Banks; brothers, Frank Williamson, Jr. (Carolyn) and Glenn Williamson; sisters-in-law, Nita Gothrup of Haughton, LA, Judy Daughtry (Vann), and Eunice Banks of Mt. Pleasant, SC; as well as numerous nieces and nephews; and long time friends, Larry and Sue Justice, Robert and Betty McConnell, Ken and Caroline McKemie, and Thomas and Lois Wallace. The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Bill Whatley, Dr Steven Presley, Dr. Ricardo Maldonado, and the staff of East Alabama Medical Center, Home Health, and Hospice Advantage. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 from 6-8 PM central time in the parlor at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Pine Grove Church at 11AM central time with the Reverend Ricky Thomaston, close friend Ken McKemie, and Reverend Bill Bryan officiating. Interment will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted, or donations made to The Pine Grove Building Fund, or charity of your choice.
