Dr. Jeanet Wimberly Trammell of Auburn, Alabama was born in El Dorado, Arkansas on June 10, 1927 and passed away at Oak Park Nursing Home surrounded by loved ones on February 1, 2016. She was 88 years old. We celebrate her home coming to be with Jesus, family, and many friends. Jeanet was preceded in death by her parents, Reverend Ross Wimberly and Grace Haney Wimberly; brothers, Joe Wimberly and Gilbert Wimberly; sister, Joyce McGowen; brother-in-law, Paul McGowen; step-son, Lawrence (Chucky) Trammell. She is survived by her loving husband, Charles (Chuck) Trammell; step-daughter, Marie Trammell Butler and her husband Jodis Butler; grandchildren, Melissa Spriggs and her husband Avery, and Jamison Williamson; great grandchildren, Kylie Williamson, Kinsley Williamson, and Ella Cate Spriggs; special niece, Kelley Sobell, her husband Steve, and their children Sam and Corey, as well as many other nieces and nephews; in-laws, Jo Ann Wimberly, Sue and Bill Sharpe, Jeanne and Kenneth Slay and all of her Beta Xi Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority sisters. Jeanet dedicated her life to loving God and loving people. She demonstrated this every day in her Christian walk. She was associated with the Assembly of God denomination her entire life. She was a missionary for 6 years in Liberia, Nigeria, and other places in Africa. Her abundance of compassion and love led her to help many others. She was a great blessing to her family, friends, and everyone she met. She was passionate about furthering her education and teaching others. She completed undergraduate work at Northwestern State University, Southwestern Assembly of God College, John Brown University, and Louisiana Tech. She earned a Masters Degree in Education from Louisiana State University and a Doctorate in Education from Auburn University. She taught in numerous high schools and colleges, including Auburn University, during her career. Jeanet faithfully joined her Alpha Delta Kappa sorority sisters in their efforts to raise scholarship money for future educators. Our family would like to thank Oak Park Nursing Home for all they did for both of us. Thank you for helping her to have quality of life until the end. I dont think many people realize how hard you all work to help physically for residents and financially for their spouse. Thank you! Visitation will be held in the Parlor at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home Saturday, February 6, 2016 from 11:00 until 12:45 p.m. Funeral service will be held Saturday, February 6, 2016 in the Chapel at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Randy Cowart, and Pastor Rudet Adkinson officiating. Interment will follow at Garden Hills Cemetery. Last but not least I want to thank the Lord for letting me be a part of this special angels life for over 40 years. Jeanet, my Jewel and Gods child, provided many great memories and taught me how to live my life for the Lord. Honey I miss you, but I will see you again and I pray that all of those that love you will walk the Christian way so that they can see you again someday.
