Jerry Simmons, 69, born in Tallassee, Alabama on August 29, 1948 went to be with the Lord on April 7, 2018. Mr. Simmons is preceded in death by his parents, Clester H. and Ruth Cannon Simmons, an infant sibling, his twin sister, Judy S. Fuller, and his son Brian A. Simmons. Having lived in Tallassee, Alabama most of his life, Mr. Simmons enjoyed his church and serving the Lord. He loved spending time with friends and family, fishing, hunting and collecting various things. Survivors include a sister, Lois Ann Fuller (Jimmy), 4 grandchildren, and numerous extended family. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 11, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday, April 12, 2018 from 9:00 until 9:45 a.m.in the Parlor at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home, 1801 Frederick Road, Opelika, Alabama. Graveside service will follow at noon at the Union Cemetery, Dadeville, Alabama. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 11, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday, April 12, 2018 from 9:00 until 9:45 a.m.in the Parlor at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home.
