Joey Lynn Smith of Opelika, Alabama was born in Dadeville, Alabama on September 06, 1971 to the late Larry Edward Smith and Dorothy Lawler, and passed away in Dolan Springs, Arizona on July 28, 2026. He was 54 years old.

He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Edward Smith; mother, Dorothy Lawler; son, Jacob Smith; brothers, Steven Smith and Christopher Smith; grandmothers, Leona Smith and Mary Merritt; grandfathers, Albert Smith and A J Merritt and granddaughter, Jada Smith.

He is survived by daughters; Brittany Lynn Smith(Rudy Guillen), Candace Smith, Crystal Smith, K J Smith and son, Trey Smith; grandchildren, Dewie Brown, ALayla Smith, JáKayla Hardy, JýKari Cosby, Braxton Smith, Natalie Fleming, S J Fleming; aunts, Dianne Kondik (Rick), Alice McCormick, Barbara Sims, Drenda Montgomery (Barry); uncle, Ronnie Tielking (Gletha) and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and other family members.

A Graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2026 at 10:00am at Garden Hills Cemetery followed by a Chapel service at 11:00am at Frederick Dean Funeral Home with Brother David Floyd officiating.
