John Frank Sanders, age 77 of Opelika, was born in Opelika on May 5, 1934 and passed away at Bethany House in Auburn on February 8, 2012. He was born to the late Wallace and Willie Dale Sanders. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed working in his flower garden and cooking for his family. Mr. Sanders was preceded in death by his brothers, Herbert Sanders and W. C. Sanders. He is survived by his daughters, Roxanne Daughtry (Carey) and Francine Tucker both of Opelika; granddaughters, Christy Daughtry Smith (Jason) of Louisiana, and Natalie Daughtry Downs (Chris) of Auburn; grandsons, Travis Tucker and Brad Chandler; great granddaughters, Samantha Smith and Sara Smith both of Louisiana; sisters, Alma Young (William) of Opelika and Lovie Stephenson of Washington; brother, Virgil Sanders of Opelika; as well as many nieces and nephews.
