Johnny Selby Hand, 52, was born August 21, 1962 in Chambers County, Alabama, and passed away on November 5, 2014 at his home.
He was an avid Alabama football fan, he loved NASCAR racing, and he was of the Pentecostal faith. He worked most of his life at West Point Pepperrell Mill, but left to go work for Uniroyal Goodrich.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Faye Hand; son, Brandon Robert Hand; paternal grandparents, S. Hand and Willie Mae Bland; maternal grandparents, Buddy Hadaway and Clara Hart; and his nephew, Trey Dudley.
He is survived by his father, Jimmy Hand (Linda); his daughters, Summer Hand and Lauren Faye Gooden Hand; his sons Johnny Lee Hand (Catlin), Stephen Burch, Jason Burch, and Justin Pressley; grandchildren, Desiree Wibby, Austin Wibby, Kenyatta Newsome, Jeremiah Newsome, Bayley Hand, Brantlee Hand, and Terence Hand; sisters, Teresa Dudley (William), Nancy Bauernfeind (Roy), Debbie Royster (Roger), and Melinda Jones (Gary); brother, Bobby Willis Jr.; his fianc, Sherrie Massey; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2014 from 11:00-12:45 pm in the Parlor at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home.
Funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm in the Chapel at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home, with Reverend Ronald Sumner officiating. Interment will follow at Shawmut Cemetery in Valley, Alabama.
