Johnny Ray Waldrop Jr. (Dunner), 49, of Opelika, AL passed away on Friday, August 28, 2026. A beloved and devoted son, husband, father, Gamps, and brother. He was born at EAMC on April 28, 1977. He grew up in Opelika attended Beauregard High School in the mid 90's.

The things he loved to do were attending Nascar races, watching Alabama football, and spending every other moment he had with his family and his amazing grandchildren. To be known by this man was to be loved by him. He may have been a butthole but he was the nicest one you would ever meet.

He is survived by his wife, Tricia Waldrop; children, Brooke (Brandon) Parrott, Paeton (Eli) Andrews, William Elliott, Kendall Brooks, and Tripp Waldrop; grandchildren, Avereigh and Owen Jones, Layne Gray, and Bryleigh Elliott; parents, Nell (Ronnie) Baker, Johnny Waldrop Sr.; grandfather, Roland Lee; siblings, Dewayne, James, and Justin Waldrop, Jason (Amanda) Baker, Candace Boddie-Hall (Clint) and his special brother Clay (Leigh-Ann) Berry; mother-in-law, Alice McCloskey. As well as many work brothers and sisters who loved him. He also had a plethora of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bobby (Fay) Waldrop and Martha Ann Strickland; brother Ronald Dale Baker Jr.; aunt, Shirley Ann Walston; uncles, Thomas Horne, Bobby and Ricky Lee; father-in- laws, Chip McCloskey and Bill Beck.

There will be a visitation on Thursday, September 3, 2026 from 5:00pm-7:00pm in the Parlor at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home.
