José Tomás Resa August 26, 1944- December 25, 2021 On a Christmas Day that seemed like so many others before it, José Tomás Resa suddenly passed from this world to join our Heavenly Father. He leaves behind his wife of 32 years, Sandy Resa, and his children, Nico Resa of Statesboro, Georgia; Monica Yeagley (Kevin) of Annapolis, Maryland; Chris Resa (Amanda) of Tampa, Florida; Tony Resa (Leslie) of Spanish Fort, Alabama; and a sister, Encarni Resa, of Infantes, Spain, as well as a host of other loved ones. On August 26, 1944, José, better known as Pepe, was born in Villanueva de los Infantes, Spain, to José Resa Morales and Nicolasa Castellaños Arcos. Upon completion of high school, he departed Infantes to join the Spanish paratroopers. After his tour with the paratroopers, he worked on several cruise ships and was afforded the opportunity to see the world. He longed to live in the United States, a dream that finally came true in the early 1970s. In 1989, he married the love of his life, Sandy, and they adored residing in Auburn, Alabama, with their son, Nico. Pepe was a gifted chef and cherished watching others enjoy his culinary creations. In addition, Pepe looked forward to attending Mass and loved the Lord. The Resa family wishes to express gratitude to their family and friends for the prayers, love, and support during this time. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michaels the Archangel Catholic Church, Auburn, Alabama on December 30, 2021 at 2:00 PM. A visitation will be held following the Mass.
