Alice "Joy" Simpson of Opelika, Alabama was born in Randolph County on July 8, 1929 and passed away at Mobile Infirmary on February 5, 2018. She was 88 years old. Preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Simpson; brother, Glenn Folmar, Jr. Alan Folmar; sister, Ruth Ann Chalker. She is survived by her children, Kay Hampton (Ray), and Deborah Stilwell; grandchildren, Chris Chance (Melissa), Carla King (Danny) and Anna Hampton (Fiance Keith Shelton); great grandchildren, Parker and Kaitlyn King, and Nicholas and Ryder Chance, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members. Visitation will be held Friday, February 9, 2018 in the Parlor at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home from 11:00 until 11:50 a.m. Funeral service will be held in the Chapel at Frederick-Dean Funeral home Friday, February 9, 2018 at 12:00 noon with Dr. Tom Tippett officiating. Interment will follow at Garden Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, February 9, 2018 in the Parlor at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home from 11:00 until 11:50 a.m.
