Joyce Gaynell Parten

1933-2023

Joyce Parten, 90, of Auburn passed away peacefully on July 25, 2023 in

Pensacola, Florida, while surrounded by her children. Born in

Thomasville, Alabama, Joyce both excelled in and cherished her roles

as a wife, mother and grandmother throughout her life.

Joyce is survived by her children, Sheila Griffis (Sam), Linda

Tidwell, Tommy Parten (Karen), and Eric Parten (Pat), and seven

grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband,

Stanton Parten, son Walt Parten and daughter Elaine Parten.

Joyce will be remembered for her kind and nurturing nature. She

dedicated her life to her family and found joy in their happiness and

success. Her love and support were unwavering, and she will be deeply

missed by all who knew her.

A graveside ceremony to honor the life and memory of Joyce Parten will

be held at Memorial Park Cemetery in Auburn on Friday, July 28, 2023,

at 11:00 AM. Family and friends are invited to join in paying their

respects and celebrating the beautiful life Joyce lived.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made in

Joyce's name to a charity of your choice.
