Judy Faye Hillyer Adams
11/13/1943 - 03/20/2026
Judy Faye Hillyer Adams of Opelika, Alabama was born November 13, 1943, to Rufus Perry Hillyer and Annie Katherine Broadwater Hillyer. She spent her final days at Bethany House surrounded by family and met her Heavenly Father in the early hours of March 20, 2026. She lived her earthly life as a hardworking and kind friend, sister, mother, wife, grandmother, and great grandmother.
She resided in the Opelika area her entire life, where she continued her legacy raising her children with her husband of over 60 years, Owsley Eugene Adams. She spent most of her working life in the textile industry at both Opelika Manufacturing/Leshner Mills and West Point Pepperell in Opelika. She attended Opelika High School. Her favorite hobby was her grandchildren, and her favorite thing was a good, cold Dr. Pepper and she loved Elvis Presley. She loved big and she loved well. Her strength in the final year of her life was remarkable and inspiring.
Judy is survived by her husband, Eugene Adams; her brother, Cary Hillyer (Martha); two sons, Ronnie Adams and Chuck Adams (Karesa); and her daughter Samantha Adams Cooley (Shaun); grandsons, Josh Deshotel, Michael Davis (April), and Bryce Ballard; granddaughters, Gabby Ballard, Jessica Adams Patterson (Michael), Robyn Fawcett, and Kadie Adams Burroughs (Dustin), and a lap full of great grandchildren – Jade, Katelyn, Raegan, Everly, Lyla, Wyatt, Charlotte, Henry, and Debra Ann.
Judy was known to adopt the privilege of caring for others in times and ways not required of her, including family like her nephew, Dewayne and his family, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Though her absence from this earth is our loss, we know she is whole and healed with her Father in Heaven.
