Karen J. Price, 74, was born on August 15, 1940 in Lyons, Kansas and passed away on March 22, 2015 at Bethany House. She was the daughter to Gerald M. Proffitt and the late Twila H. Proffitt. Mrs. Price has lived in Opelika since 1964. She worked for Opelika City Schools for 13 years. She was a member of Opelika First Baptist for many years. Before moving to Opelika, she was a member of Alden Baptist Church, Alden, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her brother, Rod Proffitt and her first husband, Tom Beck. She is survived by her husband, Robert W. Price; son, Brian Beck (Dawn); daughter, Kelli Koon (David); step-children, Mitch Price (Susan), Donna Price Armstrong (Bobby), and Jimmy Price (Donita); grandchildren, Joe Koon, Lauren Beck, and Jason Beck; step-grandchildren, Kathy Price Lumpkin, Lisa Price Horstkamp, Lanie Price, Katie Armstrong, Dr. Chance Armstrong, Kerri Price Park, and James Price; step-great-grandchildren, Alyssa Park, Elizabeth Park, Alexander Price, Leah Horstkamp, Robert Horstkamp, Hope Lumpkin, Grace Lumpkin, Kyle Lumpkin, Sophie Daniel, and Josie Daniel; brother, Larry Proffitt (Dixie); and sister, Judy Hodge (Harold); and numerous other family members and close friends.
