Lawrence Majors, 80, was born on August 12, 1934 and passed away on October 13, 2014 at East Alabama Medical Center. Mr. Majors was the owner/operator of Majors Exterminating Company from 1968-2002. He was a member of Auburn Allemanders Square Dancers, a 32nd degree Mason, and a Grand Officer of the Alabama Order of the Eastern Star. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Katie Lane Majors and his first wife, Doris B. Majors. Mr. Majors is survived by his wife, Polly S. Majors; children, Dana Wiggins (Tim) of Clarkston, WA, Renee Gosda (Marlon) of Opelika, AL, Lynn Carroll (Mike) of Auburn, AL, and John Swatts of Auburn, AL; grandchildren, Kalon Wiggins (Angela), Lindsey Eaton (Tim), Ashley Carroll, Lisa Carroll, and Kevin Swatts; great-grandchildren, Emma Wilson, Alexandra Wilson, and Joseph Wilson; brother, Ron Majors (B.J.); and numerous other family members. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home, with Reverend Libba Stinson officiating. Interment will follow at Auburn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 17, 2014 from 5:00-7:00 pm in the Parlor at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Grace Methodist Church or The American Cancer Society.
