Frances Elizabeth Shivers was born at Beeville Village in Avondale Mills in Alexander City, Alabama to Vera Mae Ponder Shivers and Henry Glaston Shivers. She lived in Alexander City for 8 years until moving to Dothan, Alabama with her mother and stepfather. She married Leslie Eugene Baker and they relocated to Auburn. Liz was active in Girl Scouts, the VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries and also worked at Auburn Flower Shop and The Flower Store. She was an active member of the Auburn United Methodist Church. During her retirement she enjoyed watching the birds and wildlife in the comfort of her home. Liz is survived by her daughter Lea and grandson Alex Weghorn of Bradenton, Florida. Liz is also survived by
her son Leslie Baker, Jr. (Janet) of LaGrange, Geaorgia. and his sons Bradley Baker (Anise) of Mobile, Donovan Baker Carroll, Luke Baker (Stacey) and Keith Baker also of LaGrange, and two great grandsons.
Liz was preceded in death by her brother Coven Reynolds Shivers of Montgomery but is survived by his widow, Liz's sister by marriage Virginia Johnson Shivers and their daughter Melanie (Scott) Russell and their two children of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.
Liz is also survived by her half sister Bea Griffin Davis (Bobby) of Morris, Alabama and their children Berry (Wendy) and their children and Bethany (David) Herron and their son. In addition Liz is survived by her half sister Ellen Griffin Harris and her sons Eddie (Michelle) and their children and Eric and his son. Also Liz is survived by her aunt Alma Forman of Wadley. and a half sister Lorene Shivers Kelley of Greenville, Georgia. Liz also leaves behind countless
beloved friends and neighbors, special co-workers and compassionate health care providers throughout Auburn. You know who you are. Lastly, Liz leaves behind Mango, her beloved cat.
A Memorial Service for Liz will be held Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at the Auburn United Methodist Church Founders Chapel.
Visitation will be at 11:30 with the service at 12:00, reception to follow.
The family requests no flowers please. Instead Liz would like for donations to be
