Obituary

Malcolm Douglas Hartzog 1955-2022 Malcolm Douglas Hartzog, 66, unexpectedly passed away on January 17, 2022 at the East Alabama Medical Center. Mr Hartzog was born July 14, 1955 in Auburn, Alabama, to Amos Hartzog and Nancy Shiver Hartzog. He graduated Auburn High School and served in the United States Navy. He later continued his education at Southern Union Community College. He worked many years at Auburn University as a property auditor. After retiring he worked security for University events. His interests included Auburn sports, reading and pickle ball. He is survived by his son, Kenneth M Hartzog; grandsons; Konner Hartzog and Caleb Hartzog; brother, Daniel Hartzog (Sherri); nieces, Tiffani and Savannah; nephews; Jeremy, Skylar, and Ryan; loving cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Amos Hartzog and Nancy S Hartzog; his sister, Nancy Marsee; brother-in-law, Richard Marsee. A graveside service to honor Malcolm Hartzog will be held Fort Mitchell National Cemetery in Fort Mitchell, Alabama on Friday, January 28 at 10:00 am central time zone. Flowers are welcome, you may make donations to your favorite charity or due to the unexpected death and if you would like to make a donation for expenses it would be greatly appreciated.
