Marie Rowell King, 95, was born on December 14, 1919 in Bremen, Georgia and passed away on April 16, 2015 at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika. She was a member of Auburn First Baptist Church but had recently attended Airview Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew "Pete" King; Brothers: Alfred and Harvey Rowell.Sisters: Verdie Aiken and Iver Courtney. She is survived by her son Kenneth King (Sandra), DaughterBarbara Thornhill (Bill), of Athens, Georgia. Grandchildren: Jennifer Gibson (Devin), Susan Moreman (Hank), Michael King (Melissa), Sarah and Will Thornhill. Sisters in law: Sally Ward of Albany, Georgia, Catherine King of Tampa, Florida, Six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a loving mother and will be missed by all who knew her. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2015 in the Parlor at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home from 10:00-11:30 a.m. Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 12:00 Noon in Auburn Memorial Park Cemetery with Reverend Michael Brown officiating.
