Mary Alice Merritt, age 77, of Opelika, was born on May 31, 1935, to the late Willie and Helen Berry and passed away on March 8, 2013 at EAMC..She was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, A.J. Merritt; her sons; David Tielking, Johnny Tielking and Donald Potts; her grandson, Chris Smith; her sisters, Fay Waldrop and Dot Kimbrel; her brothers, Charles and Jerry Berry and other loved ones that have passed away. Mrs. Merritt is survived by her daughters; Dorothy(Tim) Lawler, Alice(Teddy) Parker , Barbara Sims, Drenda (Barry) Montgomery, Peggy Taylor and Dianne ( Rick) Kondik; her son; Ronnie (Gletha ) Tielking; her sisters; Barbara Kimbrel, and Linda (Lewis) Baker; her brothers; Tommy (Kathy) Berry and Billy Berry; 19 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.. Hunter Price, Justin Causey, Lamar Prescott, Mike Baker, Rick Kondik, and Barry Montgomery will serve as her pallbearers. Eric, Cory, and Jaylen Tielking will serve as her honorary pallbearers. A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2013 at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home from 3:00pm to 6:00pm.
