Mrs. Stroud passed away in the morning hours of September 1st in her home after a short illness. She was born in Birmingham, Alabama, October 27, 1929. A graduate of Auburn University, she was a life long educator. In her later years was an active member of the Harvesters Club, Red Hat Society and Auburn United Methodist Church attending many mission trips to Nicaragua in support of the underprivileged.
A giving, caring, loving friend, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, her survivors include her five children, Philip (Ann) Stroud of Opelika, Lynne Pennock of Hendersonville, NC, Laura (Alan) Fox of San Diego, CA, Robert (Betsy) Stroud of Auburn, and Lawrence Stroud; 7 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
Memorial services for Mary Ann Stroud, 88, will be at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, September 5th, 2018 in the chapel at the Auburn United Methodist Church in Auburn, Alabama. Brother George Mathison will be officiating the service. The family will be receiving friends following the service at the church.
