Mitzi Michele Long Hernandez, 44, of Opelika, was born November 17, 1970 to the late Patricia Anne Duke and Phillip Wesley Long. She passed away on December 25, 2014. Michele was a graduate of Auburn University. She graduated with a Bachelors degree in Psychology and Criminology. She attended Southern Union and made the Deans list then transferred to Auburn and also made the Deans list. She enjoyed spending time with her family and husband. She loved animals and gardening. Before she became sick, she worked as a Police Officer and a Heavy Duty Equipment Operator. She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Daniel Arana Hernandez; daughters, Amanda Stringfellow, Whitney Stringfellow, Cambrie Stringfellow, Chasidy Stringfellow; sister, Chenina Long; brother, Wesley Long; grandchild, 11 month old Trinidy Mangram, and grandchild, Gabriel Mangram; and numerous aunts, uncles, and other family members.
