Mr. D. Ray Hood, age 59, of Opelika, was born on September 8, 1953 in Tallassee, Alabama, and died on February 6, 2013 in Phenix City, Alabama. He was of the Baptist faith and was a very hard worker. He liked horses and Alabama football. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sue Newton and Douglas Hood. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Patricia Hood; three children, Terry Pike, Mignone Hackman, and Joseph Pike; a sister, Faye Head; grandchildren, Patrick, Shelley, Trace, Phillip, Josh, Chris, Amber and Justin; two great grandchildren, Kayden and Tucker. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 8, 2013 from 5-7 p.m. at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home.
