Reaby McCutcheon was born in Covington County, Alabama on January 24th, 1930 and passed away quietly at home, surrounded by family and loved ones on March 26, 2017. She was 87 years old.
She was a devoted wife and loving mother - caring and generous with her talents and her time. She selflessly devoted her life to her family, friends, her church and numerous Christian charities.
Above all she was a devout disciple of Christ, a prominent member of her church, a much-loved Sunday school teacher, a humble student as well as a patient teacher of the scriptures.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lillie Mae and Irving Josey, her sisters Odessa McCart, Marie Spicer and her brother William Josey.
She is survived by her husband Seth McCutcheon Sr. (Mike), her children Cathy Lockwood, Barbara Davis and Seth McCutcheon Jr. and her son-in-law Brett Lockwood and grandsons Christian and Alex, her sisters, Mary Quinata and Carolyn Stephens as well as many nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be in Providence Baptist Church, Thursday, March 30th, 2017, from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Her funeral service will follow immediately thereafter, at 2:00 p.m., in the sanctuary.
Following the funeral a brief graveside service will be conducted at Garden Hills Cemetery, in Opelika Alabama.
In lieu of flowers, donations, in her honor, may be made to Providence Baptist church, where she served as Sunday School teacher for 40 years or to Teen Challenge (drug rehabilitation organization for teens).
