Resa Mae Smith was born on March 10, 1925 and raised in Chambers County, Alabama and passed away March 11, 2011 at her home in Opelika. She was 86 years old. She married her loving husband, James G. Smith, Sr. on April 26, 1941. Together they spent 30 years on military assignments across the United States and Europe. She was predeceased by her son, James G. Smith, Jr. She is survived by her husband, James G. Smith, Sr.; three granddaughters, Gretchin (Garfield) Hayes, Stacy Taylor, India (Butch) Griffin; five great grandchildren, CJ Dennis, Harley Atkinson, Jesse Dennis, Tyler Atkinson, and Alexys Varnado; and her pet, Daisy Mae.
