Robert "Bob" Morton Mason, age 82 of Lee County, Alabama, was born in Nashville, Tennessee on March 9, 1932 and passed away at his home on May 18, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Pauline Mason of Nashville, Tenn. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Sarah Murray Mason; daughters Margie M. Sanders (Tom), Paula Mason (Joe Ebersole), and Mary M. Shell (Dan); son Sam C. Mason (Debbie); and five grandchildren, Byrne Sanders, Clay Sanders, Mason Shell, James Shell, and Sara Jean Shell; brother Terry Mason (Linda), and sister Harriet Smith (Wayne). He graduated from Central High School in Nashville, Tenn., in 1951. He was an alumnus of Belmont College. He served in the U.S. Army and attended Officer Candidacy School at Fort Benning, Georgia and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant. In his career, he was a highly successful fine paper sales executive. He was an avid Auburn University football fan. Upon retirement he spent his time between Auburn and Highlands, NC. He was a faithful husband and loving father. He loved his God and country. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St Jude Childrens Hospital or the scholarship fund at Beulah United Methodist Church. A memorial service will be held on June 14, 2014 at 11:00am CST at Beulah United Methodist Church, Beulah, Alabama.
