Robert M Patterson

Robert Milton Patterson of Auburn passed away on March 19, 2023 at his home. Mr. Patterson was born on November 30, 1941 in Anderson, AL. Following high school, Mr. Patterson served his country as a Marine. Upon completion of his service, he returned to Alabama where he started a career as an Alabama State Trooper. As a Trooper, he served in various capacities in Huntsville, Decatur, Cullman, Dothan, and Montgomery, retiring with the rank of Lieutenant Colonial. He also taught at the Law Enforcement Academies at Jacksonville and Selma. During this time, he completed his degree at the University of Montevallo. In retirement, Mr. Patterson worked in the trucking industry. He enjoyed watching all sports and was an avid Alabama fan.

Mr. Patterson is preceded in death by a son, Brett Patterson, a granddaughter, Hayden Peacock, and a brother, Neil Patterson. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Patterson, daughter Brandi (Drew) Peacock, son Bryn (Pei) Patterson, grandchildren Mason, Emily, and Logan Peacock and Oliver Patterson, brother Roger Patterson, sisters Jo Lynne Abernathy and Janice Boster.

A graveside service will be held on March 30th at 2:30 p.m. at Roselawn Cemetery in Athens, AL.
