Robert Eugene "Gene" Segrest, age 64 of Opelika, was born in Macon County on January 2, 1947 and passed away at his home on June 1, 2011. He was of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his wife, Gayle Segrest; his children, Bobby Segrest (Carol), Wendi Adkison (Darrell), Sherry Rose, Lynn Elliot, Robby Segrest, Jr., and April Hadaway (Adam); four brothers; four sisters; seven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
