Robert Nall Talmage, Sr., age 83 of Auburn, passed away on May 20, 2011 at East Alabama Medical Center. Mr. Talmage was born on July 28, 1927 in New Orleans, Louisiana. He graduated from Auburn University where he lettered in track. He was a true Auburn man and loyal fan his entire life. He founded a national management consulting firm which he managed for almost forty years. Mr. Talmage was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Auburn where he served as an elder for many years. He taught Sunday school for 35 years. He was also active in the Salvation Army and the Kiwanis Club of Auburn. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Talmage; his mother, Elizabeth Mullinex Talmage; and his grandson, Ryan Stich. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jean Talmage; and their six children: daughter, Sharon Stich and husband Gregory; son, Bobby Talmage and wife Karen; daughter, Gretchen Allen and husband Bill; daughter, Rachel Chappell; daughter, Rebecca Taylor and husband Lee; son, John Talmage and wife Kim; sister, Marjorie Poole and husband Charlie; along with 22 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a host of other beloved family and friends. Mr. Talmage was a devoted Christian, husband, father, and grandfather and was loved and admired by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Memorial services will be held Monday, May 23, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Auburn, Alabama. Dr. Frank Covington will be the officiating minister.
