Robert Clyde Weldon 1953-2022 Robert Clyde Weldon of Opelika was born to the late Carolyn and Clyde Weldon in Opelika on February 17, 1953 and passed away at his home on February 23, 2022. He was 69 years old. He was of the Baptist Faith, and was in the United States Army and the United States Navy where he served overseas. Roberts occupation was a maintenance and mechanic operator where he was employed with Hanawa. He enjoyed time with family and friends and had a deep compassion for animals. Robert was preceded in death by his sister, Belinda Fairchild and Chris Taylor; bonus parent, Betty Weldon. Robert is survived by his wife of 15 years, Lee Weldon; children, Jennifer Coker (Craig), Loretta Voss (Bryan), Amanda Riddle (Bryan), Shannon Weldon; step-children, Elisabeth Gamble (Chris), Tim Clayton, Rebekah Bailey (Justin) Seth Clayton (Abi), Nanci Brosnahan (David), Sarah Welcher (Michael), Gabriel Clayton (Katelyn); 27 grandchildren; sisters, Debra Carlson, Tina Holloway (Steve), Joyce Kelley, Patricia Smith (Jimmy), Geanne Cannon (Henry), and Robin Dunham; brothers, Tad Weldon (Charlene), and Doug Carter (Myra), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 27, 2022 in the Parlor at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home from 1:00 until 2:15 p.m. Funeral service will follow in the Chapel at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home at 2:30 p.m. with Reverend Russell DeLee officiating. Interment will follow at Garden Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers family requests donations can be made to the Lee County Humane Society (1140 Ware Drive Auburn, AL. 36832) in his honor.
