Ronald David Hall, 84, of Auburn, Alabama, passed away January 24, 2017 at East Alabama Medical Center. He was born in Ocilla, Georgia, on March 14, 1932, the son of Winston Curvin Hall and Ruby Henderson Hall. He attended school in Folkston, Georgia and joined the Air Force at an early age, serving his country for 20 years at bases including Moody, Hickam and Maxwell. He moved to Alabama in 1969 as an AF ROTC recruiter at Auburn University, achieving the rank of Technical Sergeant. After retirement, he made Auburn his home with careers that included operating the Greyhound bus station in Auburn, and owning Budget Auto Sales in Opelika. Ron was an avid golfer, and enjoyed socializing with friends and helping others. He had a fondness for desserts, Georgia and Auburn football games, Frank Sinatra tunes and John Wayne westerns. Throughout his life, he never forgot his Georgia roots, and more than anything, he loved his children and always wanted the best for them. Ron will be loved and missed by all who knew him. He is survived by Arlene Lenton of Auburn, Alabama; his daughter, Cindy Hall of Pensacola Beach, Florida; sons, David (Emily) Hall of Opelika, Alabama; Richard (Trish) Hall of Gainesville, Georgia; and Jeffrey Hall, Opelika, Alabama; grandchildren, Charlie Hall, Chad Hoover and Krista Hoover, and two great-grandchildren of Gainesville, Georgia; sisters, Norma (Ron) Johnson, Pinehurst, North Carolina; Betty (Tom) Bowling and Barbara (Steve) Sadler, Sylvester, Georgia; brothers, Dale (Marie) Hall, Sylvester, Georgia; and Tommy (Bonnie Boyle) Hall, Dawson, Georgia; and Bertha and Earnest Womack of Springfield, Virginia; plus many cousins, nieces, nephews and a multitude of friends. Visitation will be 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 26, at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 27, at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Dr. Stephen Faulk of Auburn AME Zion Church officiating. Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Fort Mitchell, Alabama. Visitation will be 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 26, at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home.
