Roy Jenkins, 83, of Opelika passed away peacefully at Bethany House with his loving wife and children by his side.

Mr.. Jenkins was born May 27, 1940 in Montgomery, Alabama to the late Bessie Thompson Baker and Marshall Jenkins. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Marilyn Smith, Kathryn DuBose and Betty DuBose, his brothers, Gene Edward Jenkins and Larry Jenkins.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Patricia Jenkins, sisters, Dot Hudmon, Joyce Sergeant, Rebecca Watkins, Alice Walker and Brenda Holt. Daughters, Pam (Rick) Foster, Donna (Billy) Krake, and Kathy (Bill) Faircloth and son, Jason ( Kellie) Jenkins. Grandchildren, Joshua (Crystal) Rudd, Adam Rudd, Wesley Rudd, Ricky Foster; Chris (Michelle) Jenkins, Emily ( Cory) McCrory, Anthony McWaters; Jeffery (Dana) Jenkins, Jonathon Jenkins; Shannon Bell and Patrick Jenkins. Fifteen great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.

Mr. Jenkins was of Baptist faith and a member of Purpose Baptist Church. He loves the Lord Jesus Christ.

He sang for the residents at Northridge Assisted Living, Oak Park, Arbor Springs, Cambridge Place and Camilla Place for more than 20 years. He was a lover of music, fishing, and turtle hunting. He also loved big family gatherings. His favorite say was " It's gonna be dark tonight."

Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 16, 2023 at Frederick Dean Funeral Home with visitation in the Parlor from 12:00PM to 1:45PM and service in the Chapel at 2:00PM. Graveside to follow at Garden Hills Cemetery.

The family would like to give special thanks to Bethany House if Auburn for all the live and care they gave to my husband and our father.
