Verna Jacquelyn (Jackie) Teachworth 1934-2021 Mrs. Jackie Teachworth went home to be with her Lord and Savior January 28, 2021. She was 86 years old. Jackie was born February 1, 1934 in Walker County, Alabama to the late Mr. and Mrs. A.V. Northcutt. She lived most of her adult life in the Auburn/Opelika area. Jackie was a long time member of Central Baptist Church of Opelika where she sang in the choir for many years. She worked as the Office Manager for Dr. Kenneth Strother for 20 years and was an avid Auburn football fan. Jackie was preceded in death by husband, Robert Byron Teachworth. She is survived by her children, Denise Speed (Burton), Debra Sheppard (Randy), and Robbie Teachworth; 2 grandsons, Hal Speed (Kristin), Lee Speed (Dana); 3 great grandsons, Robbie Speed (Madison), Wyatt Speed, Ethan Speed; 2 great granddaughters, Chloe Speed, Emerson Speed; 1 great-great granddaughter, Lily Speed; 1 sister, Norma Horton of Walker County; 1 brother, Barry Northcutt of Ft. Payne and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be February 20, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Central Baptist Church. Memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. at Central Baptist Church with Reverend Larry Doster officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Central Baptist Church Music Ministry.
