Virginia Young Priest of Auburn, Alabama was born to the late Louise Carter Young and Guilford Evans Young, Jr. on March 18, 1933 and passed away at Arbor Springs on August 7, 2017. She was 84 years old. Her most recent employment was as Executive Secretary for Coach Pat Dye in the office of the Special Assistant to the President of Auburn University. She was preceded in death by her brothers, G.E. Young, III and Claude John Young. She is survived by her children, William Augustus Wood (Ellen) of Auburn, Alabama, Thomas Halliburton Wood of Dallas, Texas, and Daniel Carter Wood (Barbara) of Coral Springs, Florida; grandchildren, Luke Wood (Victoria), Lydia Carraway (Koy), Ashley Wood, Kyle Wood, Mark Wyatt, and Jennifer Burgum (Billy); great grandchildren, Will Burgum, Ava Burgum, and Callen Carraway. She is also survived by her sister, Louise Young O'Brien as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 10, 2017 in the Parlor at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the Chapel at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home on Friday, August 11, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Thad Endicott officiating. Interment will follow at Garden Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 10, 2017 in the Parlor at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
