William Anthony (Tony) Curtis 1944-2021 William Anthony (Tony) Curtis passed away peacefully at his home on April 26, 2021 at the age of seventy-six. He was born on October 28, 1944 in Enterprise, AL. His parents were the late James Benjamin Curtis and Nettie Grace Fortner Curtis. Tony was married to the love of his life, Deborah (Debbie) Thomson Curtis. They married on July 22, 2000 in Evans, GA. He is survived by his sons, Jeffrey Benjamin (LeAnn) Curtis of Marietta, GA and Jason Aaron (Robin) Curtis of Acworth, GA, and by his step-sons, Jeromy Joe (Amanda) Williams of Ocala, FL and Richard Paul (Annora) Williams of Hampton, GA. His grandchildren are Jefferson Wade Curtis, Benjamin Clate Curtis, Catherine Laine Curtis, Riley Ann Curtis, Catherine Aaron Curtis, William Evan Curtis, Zachary Steele Williams, Mackenzie Paige Williams, Tristan James Williams, Rachel Annora Williams, and Logan Dale Williams. His siblings are James Fortner (Bronda) Curtis, Joseph Benjamin (Reba) Curtis, Linda Grace (James) Blair, and the late Frank Davis Curtis who is survived by his wife, Phyllis. Above all else, Tony was known as a person of faith, generosity, and integrity. He enjoyed a strong personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and was eager to share his faith with everyone he knew. Tony was a historian and was known by the family as the expert in genealogy. He did extensive research on his family tree at courthouses, libraries, cemeteries, and churches throughout the United States. Tony loved traveling and spending time with his family and especially enjoyed fishing with his sons, brothers, and friends. Tony excelled in two extraordinary careers. He was the Senior Vice-president of Georgia State Bank in Atlanta for twenty-two years and was the Director of Franchise Operations of Mighty Auto Parts for twenty-one years. The graveside services for family members will be held at Garden Hill Cemetery in Opelika, AL at 9:00 AM on Saturday, May 8, 2021. The Celebration of Life Service will follow at Church of the Highlands East Campus in Auburn at 11:30 AM. All friends and family are invited to the Celebration of Life and the reception that will follow at the clubhouse at Hamilton Gables in Opelika, AL. Desserts and drinks will be served. Tony requested that all donations be sent to the "Backpack Program", a program for which he volunteered for many years. Those donations can be sent to Auburn Dream Center, 3660 Grandview Parkway, Birmingham, AL, 35243 with donations made to "COTH Backpack Program" in honor of Tony Curtis.
