William Crawford McClendon, III, was born March 16, 1946 in Opelika, Alabama and passed away August 22, 2012. He was 66 years old and a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church of Opelika.
"Bill Mac" was preceded in death by his parents, Ouida Cook McClendon and William Crawford McClendon, Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Patrice Barber McClendon; two daughters, Vera McClendon Lee and her husband Chris, and Virginia McClendon Crawford and her husband Mike; sister, Ouida McClendon Stough and her husband Butch; grandchildren, William Matthew Crawford, David Ryan Crawford, Thomas Conrad Crawford, and Mary Duncan Lee; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many close friends.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who loved the outdoors.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church Honduras Ministry or to the First United Methodist Church Music Ministry.
The family greatly appreciates the compassion and loving care given by Dr. Edie Graves and Dr. David McKenzie and their staffs.
Visitation will be held following the service in the sanctuary.
