Zachary Bubba James Sorenson

1996-2023

We regretfully announce the passing of Zachary Bubba James Sorenson, 27, of Opelika, Alabama. Bubba, as he was known by all, passed away on July 29.

Born on April 19, 1996, in Montgomery, Alabama, Bubba is survived by his fiancée Deven Still, parents Jeffrey Sorenson and Tiffany Johnston, siblings Alex Sorenson, Bryan Sorenson, and Taylor Sorenson, grandparents, Carl and Linda Alred of Montgomery and niece Darcie Montgomery.

He was proud to serve his community as a Firefighter Medic, was an active member of the Strongman community, where he brought love and pride to every competition, and passionately pursued his childhood dream of being a cattle farmer. Bubba never met a stranger and made everyone around him feel loved and appreciated. Beloved for his kindness, vibrancy, and "Bubba-Bear hugs," he will be sorely missed.

Services will be held Saturday, August 5, at First Baptist Church of Opelika. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM, with a service following at 1:00 PM. Interment will be at Garden Hills Cemetery.
