Our Story
Frederick-Dean Funeral Home was founded in 1900 in Opelika, Alabama as Fredericks Funeral Home. It's founder James Tichenor Frederick was the owner of Fredericks Furniture Company which became furnishing undertakers and later took on the name Fredericks Funeral Home. In 1952 the location where the funeral home is today was built on what would later be named Frederick Road, after the funeral home.
The Frederick family owned and operated the funeral home for over 90 years. Joseph L Dean, III, an Opelika native is the owner of the funeral home. It is truly a blessing and a calling for Joseph to be able to help families during the most difficult time in their lives.
Joseph and the staff of Frederick-Dean are commited to providing to the communities we serve an unmatched level of service and attention to detail that families have come to expect and deserve.
