Louise H. Rubio, 80, of Opelika, passed away on November 19, 2016 at Bethany House.
Mrs. Rubio was born on August 17, 1936, in Opelika, Al. She dedicated her life as a military wife traveling to Germany, Fort Bragg, N.C., and Fort Campbell ,KY. After moving back to Opelika she worked at West Point Stevens and retired after 22 years of service on June 26, 1998. As a wonderful wife and mother, she lived a dedicated Christian life for our Lord. She opened her home to many seeking love and refuge and loved them as her own. Her warm smile and loving heart will truly be missed by all who knew her.
Mrs. Rubio is survived by her husband of 60 years, Joaquin Rubio, Sr.; sons Joaquin Rubio, Jr. (Terri), Roberto Devon Rubio (Gina), daughters Charlotte Louise Rubio, Consuelo E. Segrest, and Carmen Netty Rubio, all of whom she loved deeply; a sister Helen Dykes (Samford), a brother Houston Howard; nine grandchildren, Chad Rubio, Dacy Lee (Robert), Jake Rubio, Justin Segrest (Jessica), Andrew Segrest, A.J. Rubio, Katelyn Reynolds (Jessy), Nicole Humiston (Josh), Cory Rubio (Brooke) and 20 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Nina Howard; two brothers, Robert Howard and Roy Howard, and a sister, Jeannette Jackson.
Visitation will be held in the Parlor at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home on Monday, November 21, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
Graveside service will be held at Garden Hills Cemetery on Monday, November 21, 2016 at 1:30 p.m.
