Thomas D. Nixon, Sr., of Auburn, Alabama was born the late Ernest Cyde and Marion Jamerson Nixon in Georgia on April 6, 1924 and passed away at Bethany House on December 1, 2016. He was 92 years old. He is survived by his wife Ila Marie Hinson Nixon; children Thomas Donald "Don" Nixon, Jr. and his wife Carol, Alan Mangrum Nixon, Sherrill Marie Nixon, and Arlene Nixon Dodson; two grandchildren, and three great grandchildren; sister Mary Wannamaker. A Graveside service will be held Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Hopewell United Methodist Church at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Dru Tubbs officiating.
