Winnie Dawkins, age 85 of Opelika, was born March 3, 1928 in Crenshaw County, Alabama, and passed away at home on June 25, 2013. She is survived by her husband, John Dawkins; her daughters, Charlotte Knowles and her husband, Andy, of Opelika, Patsy Griffin and her husband Charles of Baton Rouge, LA; her sister, Mae Leen Pynes and her husband, Carleton; her brothers, Joe Kidd and his wife, Bea, Murrill Kidd and his wife, Betty; her granddaughters, Heather Phillips(Brad), Amanda Tarvin(Scott), Amy Sloop(Steven); her grandson, Matthew Williford; and her great-grandchildren Madelyn and Cole Tarvin. Funeral Service will be Thursday, June 27, 2013, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home, with Rev. Raymond Rhodes officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service in the parlor at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home.
